40: Feeling Uncomfortable

Jesse has just stormed out of Marie's apartment....
---------------------------------

Marie

Nursing my problems until that's all I am?
"I have feelings for you, Marie," echoes in my head over and over again, torturing me. DO I feel the same like he said? What if I do?
I don't need this! I don't need this! I don't need this! Isn't this why I left Champs les Sims?

I start pacing around my apartment, my head in my hands. Then my mind wanders back to that kiss. I should've known he'd try that. I'd just stopped thinking after my embarrassment about smoothing out his shirt.
Admit it, Marie. You liked it, I think with a short noise escaping me, and I sink to the floor to curl up into a ball. I did.
Oh, of course I did! The man is a womanizer after all! Why wouldn't he know how to kiss like that?!
Feelings... hah! He didn't say what kind of feelings... as he was standing there in my bedroom.
Oh, I don't know what to make of him! One minute he's laughing, the next he's really nice, then he's kissing me, oh and then getting mad at me when I tell him, again, that I need time. I haven't known him for a week, and he's already under my skin. How long can I keep him at arms' length?
I let out a huff, stand up, and walk around my apartment, gathering all the wet towels. Then, I remember my wet clothes from earlier. Oh crap! I left them in his car! Now what? I take and dump the pile of wet laundry on my bathroom floor and decide to take a shower. Once my shower is done, I lay out all the wet towels as best as I can over the shower walls and towel rack. I'll do laundry tomorrow. I don't feel like lugging all that to the building's laundry room tonight.

Clean, refreshed, and feeling a little better about myself, I sit down and turn on the TV. The only thing worth watching is a vampire movie that I remember seeing with Armand once or twice. It's at the part where the guy finally, finally turns his girlfriend. The last time I watched this movie, Armand stopped it here to practically carry, no, he did carry me, off to his bedroom... where I chickened out.
"Cocktease," I hear Cristina's voice in my head. I hate her.

I turn off the TV, slam the remote on the coffee table, and decide to just go to bed early.

Once in the bed, I hug the spare pillow to me and wonder what Jesse's doing right now. Did he find the bag of clothes?
I let out a resigned sigh, giving those clothes up for ruined. He'd probably left them in the bag, and they're probably mildewing at this very moment.
I know where he lives... I think. I could go over there and... No. It's still raining.
I lie here and listen to the rain outside, and before I realize it, I'm asleep. My dreams are a mish-mash collection of recent events with Jesse as even my subconscious tries to make sense of it all.

Erin

Bryce and I go and step into the shower together. There's not a whole lot of room in there for the two of us, but neither of us mind. After we get out, I put my underwear back on and lie down on the bed. He watches me, pulls a pair of pajama pants out of the dirty clothes, sniffs them, shrugs and mumbles about how they're still okay.

He gets into bed and pulls me close, looking like he wants to talk about something. I'm so glad I'm learning to read him better.
"Hey," I say just to say something.
His eyes search mine before he answers, "Hey." Then he gets quiet again.
     "What's wrong?" I ask quietly.
"I'm sorry for running off into the bathroom right after sex like I did yesterday morning," he says quietly.
Wow, I guess he didn't feel like building up to what he had to say, I think as I get quiet. Well, I guess one could say I STAY quiet since I haven't said anything since I asked him what was wrong.
I look up at his eyes in the dark and think about yesterday morning. That was when I'd told him I'd kissed Sean back. I hate myself for what I did. I hate that I hurt Bryce, but I had to admit to it.
"Please tell me what's going on inside your head," he asks after an unknown amount of time goes by, his intense stare looking like it's trying to penetrate my skull.
"I was just thinking about yesterday morning," I answer. "About how I hurt you when I told you all that. I'm sorry."
"You would try and turn this around to yourself, wouldn't you?" he asks sardonically.
      "Well..."
"Well, you've already apologized for that about twenty times now, and I've forgiven you." He takes in a breath of air to continue, "Would you just let me apologize without you trying to place all the blame on yourself?"
I guess I was doing that.
He starts talking again after we've been silent for a few moments, "I didn't want you to see."
       "Maybe I could've helped," I say quietly.
"Not right then. I was mad at you."
My brows come together as I think about what he said. I guess Bryce doesn't show all of his emotions all the time like I thought. He hid his anger.
"Doesn't it make sense for you to be angry?" I ask, watching his face just as intently as he watches mine. "So you needed to go off and deal with it alone. I can understand that." His brows come together for a few seconds before he rolls his eyes and goes back to a blank expression. "And then we talked about it," I finish.

"Once you stopped crying," he points out. "What made you cry like that? What specifically? Do you remember?" He reaches down to lightly brush a few rogue hairs out of my face before he rests his head on his hand again.
"I was thinking how you were mad at me and how distant you'd gotten there at the end. And I was mad at myself for doing something so stupid. And I was worried you hated me and that I'd betrayed your trust."
A pained look comes over his face, and he pulls himself up to kiss me, his lips pressing hard on mine. All those bad thoughts start circling around in my head again, clawing at my self-esteem, and I start crying.
"No! No no no no no," he croons, wiping my tears. "I shouldn't have asked you to tell me what you'd thought, but that's what I'm apologizing for: making you think them. Forget them, okay?"
I sniff and move my head in little, quick nods.
"Okay." He starts talking again. "Two things: One, you didn't betray my trust; you made a mistake, and two, I don't hate you. I love you. I've told you that over and over again, but maybe I should just repeat it constantly for the rest of my life."
And then he starts doing precisely that while kissing me various places on my body that he can easily reach in between the 'I love you's. It doesn't take long for me to start thinking he sounds ridiculous, and the playful look in his eyes doesn't help. By the time he gets to my stomach, I'm laughing.
Suddenly, his warm hands are on my stomach, tickling me.
"No!" I squeal loudly. I hate being tickled.
      "Shh!"
I pant a little before I quip, "Oh, don't you dare tell me to 'shh'! If you didn't want me to do that then you shouldn't have ticked me." I still can't help but smile back to his infectious grin.
"All right," he says, still grinning like a buffoon. Then he reaches down, pulls the covers up over us, and wraps an arm around me.

I feel his breath on my shoulder before his stubble lightly scratches me when he kisses me. "I like having you here," he says emphatically.
I feel butterflies in my stomach and lightning in my veins as I brace myself for what he might say next. My eyes widen, and I work at keeping my anxiety at bay as he pulls me to him as close as he can get me. He doesn't say anything else, and I slowly relax.
"I love you, Bryce," I breathe even though I think he's gone to sleep already. After a few minutes, I join him in dreamland.

Adele

"You just like that movie because the fox's name is Todd," Helen teases me while we sit here on the playground's play set after school lets out. We'd been talking about Disney's 'The Fox and the Hound'.
"No, I just think the fox is cute," I reply, defending myself.
"You think Todd is cute!" she says and starts giggling hysterically.
    "Quit it!"

She gasps and starts frantically tapping my arm. "There he is, and he's walking over here!" she loudly whispers.
I dare not turn around to look. I don't really care anyway. He's just some stupid boy after all.
"Hey Helen, I bet Todd here that you couldn't skip a stone more than one hop," I hear Eduardo say from behind me on the ground.
"What?! I can so! You're so going to lose your bet, Eduardo," she challenges as she slides down the pole.
Oh boy. Here we go again, I think and roll my eyes. That boy loves riling her up, leaving me and Todd behind most of the time. It's not my fault it always seems to happen. She's the one running off and leaving me.

"You know something?" I hear behind me as Todd climbs up the ladder. Eduardo and Helen's arguing gets fainter as they get closer to the water. "I really don't care how many times she can skip a stone." He sits down in front of me.
I don't know what has gotten into Helen's head about me and Todd because it's not like I like him or anything. I mean, he has nice hair. I can't quite figure out why I like his hair, but I do.
"Then why did you bet him?" I ask.
"I didn't. He bet me, remember? Don't tell him I told you this, but I think he likes her." He grins at me.
"Could have fooled me," I say, getting bored. Helen is boy crazy, and she'd love it if she knew that Eduardo likes her.
"I know, right?! It's like he doesn't know anything else to do, so he fights with her." We both look out over the water. "I get where he's coming from," he adds quietly.
"Why does he think he has to fight with her to have something to do?! That's insane."
"So what should I tell him to do instead?" he asks me with an eager look in his eyes.

"I don't know. Just... stuff. Look, this is weird. I gotta go." We both stand up, and I slide down the pole.
"What's weird?" he asks as my feet hit the sand.
"Asking me for relationship advice?" I ask when I spin around and look up at him.
     "Well, you're her friend."
"Did he put you up to this?"
"Er... no," he admits. "Just... trying to be helpful." He slides down the pole himself and walks in my direction after I'd started heading towards my bicycle.
"Well, he doesn't have to argue with her to get her to talk to him."

"Then give me some ideas," he requests, and I turn around and notice for the first time that his eyes are a very light blue.
My eyes open wide before I shrug real big. "I don't know. Um..." He steps right in front of me. "Uh, flowers? I don't know, my dad just... talks... and stuff." I start feeling uncomfortable.
"And stuff," he echoes before he flips his hair out of his eyes.
"I don't know. You figure it out. Maybe a compliment or something. Look, my dad is waiting for me at home. It's picnic day."
"Your dad goes on picnics with you?" he asks with a look like he doesn't believe me.
"Yes, as long as I make the food."
"You can cook?" he asks incredulously.
"Um, no, not really, not on a stove or anything, but he doesn't really like to or he just gets me to do it," I say quickly, ready for this strange conversation to be over with.
"Okay. Well, have a good time then," he says when I get my bicycle.
"Okay," I answer and start riding towards home.

Helen Hoffman is a townie that comes with Sunlit Tides. Also, I forgot Adele had ballet. Why oh why did I have to sign her up for that? That made her get out of school much later than I wanted, making me feel like I must say that in the story it's not as late as the pictures indicate (if anyone notices). :)

  1. Awww Adele has an admirer. Cute. Bryce probably wouldn't think so but still cute.

Marie, she has some issues to work through it sounds like and Jesse is confusing her. I understand why she is cautious, Jesse isn't known for his committed relationships and with her saying she chickened out, does that mean Marie is still a virgin? Wow if that's the case Jesse is gonna have to be a really sweet and understanding guy but somehow I think its gonna be a big ol' mess.(not the sex just the getting there part)

I'm glad Bryce apologized for that morning. They are still stumbling through and working through their own insecurities still. Man this has been a very intense relationship already.

    1. Hehe, yes it would appear so. Um, yeah, I don't think Bryce would really like the idea of boys starting to be interested in Adele.

      Yes she does.
LOL, poor Marie, right now... LIFE is confusing her, and Jesse isn't helping one bit.
Right again. I didn't outright say it because Marie doesn't need to think it, but she's a virgin. In fact, it was after a very frustrating night with her bestfriend/boyfriend (Dawson) that Cristina came back from Riverview. So, she blames her behavior that night along with everything else as to why Dawson ran into Cristina's arms. And THIS is what Jesse has in front of him, and he has no idea. This woman might just be the death of him because it doesn't look like he's ready to throw in the towel (ugh, towel joke with the windows, etc) for a while. Oh my goodness, the idea of writing up a sex scene like that with the two of them strangely gives me butterflies LOL. what's up with that?

Yes, that needed doing. Bryce wouldn't have been able to get any sleep until he let it out.
They've had an intense relationship so far, but maybe, hopefully, now things will start to calm down enough to where they're not dodging obstacle after obstacle.

      Thanks for reading!

  2. I really loved Adele's section. So cute! So was Todd really asking for advice on Eduardo's behalf, or trying to get tips from Adele on how he should approach her?

Marie, Marie. So conflicted! I really don't blame her for wanting to avoid getting into anything with Jesse, with his reputation. So it's all on him really to figure out a way to get her to see who he really is and what he's about without it looking like he's just trying to score.

I'm so glad Bryce and Erin had that talk and it ended on a good note. Their relationship ha been so intense from the start, and every little thing resonates so much more for them because of their past issues. It's a lot to work through, but it's nice to see them getting there.

    1. Hehe, that was the oldest section (written a while ago). I love it too. :) Well, what do you think? WAS Todd asking for himself or Eduardo? hehe. He might have given himself away a little with that eager look in his eyes that weirded Adele out.

Exactly, even though he'd rather have found 'the one' and be happy, he's acquired the player rep. It's an uphill battle with Marie, and he's going to have to decide if it's really worth it.

Yes, they needed that, and Bryce wouldn't have been able to sleep without letting out what was bothering him. Hopefully, now they can settle into a normal relationship without having to dodge obstacle after obstacle. I think things will get easier the more they understand one another, but that really is a 'duh' statement isn't it? /sigh. :)

      Thanks for reading!

  3. You know what? Helen and Eduardo remind me of Ginger and Desmond. He makes her angry so he can hang out with her. LOL! Don't know if that was your intention, but that's where my crazy mind went. :p The children sound so grown up talking about relationships, that was adorable. Good update.

    1. hehehe! I wondered if anyone would see that. The difference here is that Eduardo doesn't really understand why he does it. He just wants Helen to pay attention to him.

Yeah, the kids sound a little grown up. I put it like that because I remember at around 10, 11, 12 that to others around the same age, we talked and we felt like we were grown up. Something like that. I'm not saying it like I'm thinking it exactly.

      Thanks for reading!

  4. haha, Marie has a point, Jesse didn't specify what *kind* of feelings, and he is known as a womanizer and he was standing in her bedroom. Touché! So she's realized she left the wet clothes in his car, but I'm guessing she hasn't really had the thought that those include underwear and what Jesse might make of that? *giggle* I feel for her a little, trying to put distance between herself and her past, and here's this big man getting all under her skin and being very insistent about it. I'm gonna love it when Jesse really breaks down those walls at last.

On to Bryce. "maybe I should just repeat it constantly for the rest of my life." --oops, slip of the tongue there, buddy :D Did Erin notice that? When he emphasized that he liked having her there, she got anxious, so she's probably guessing how serious he is about her staying there, and it's a little too much at the moment?

The words "relationship advice" coming out of Adele's mouth seriously cracked me up! Adele and Todd were SO CUTE! Why do I get the feeling Todd was asking for himself, not Eduardo?

    1. :D When I was typing up that bit with Jesse and Marie and when he told her he had feelings for her, I debated having Marie jump to that conclusion right away, but that brought the scene in the wrong direction.
She knows the panties are (really were) in the bag, but she honestly doesn't think Jesse did anything with them, so Jesse having her panties is no big deal since he (to her) doesn't know he has them. It never occurred to her that he would deduce that she'd taken them off at the store.
Big man. Yeah. Oh yeah. *giggles*
Jesse might lose his mind if he keeps trying to chase Marie.

You caught it! I wondered if anyone would catch it and think about it like that. Erin certainly didn't, even if she caught the 'having you here' bit. Yeah, Bryce let it slip what he's now unconsciously thinking: he and Erin together for the rest of their lives, just one step at a time.
Erin loves spending the night with Bryce, but even with that, everything is moving so fast that her head is starting to spin. So, the thought of permanently moving in with Bryce starts up a mild panic. Nothing against Bryce. It's just the time frame.

LOL I grinned when I wrote that bit because it sounded so grown up, but that's how she is with her peers. Todd is a doll. Hm, I don't know how smooth Todd was in asking for advice. That eager look may have given him away. :)

      Thanks for reading!

  5. Same spelling and grammar rules as yesterday.
    Ok, starting from the bottom.
So cute!!! I almost died from cuteness overdose.
Todd is a right little cheeky player! Haha, he clearly asked Adele all that stuff so he could use it on her! She's too young and naive though. Bless. I can't wait to see how that plays out. I can't see Bryce being overjoyed...
    AWWW!! :D

    Up to the top.
    Oh, Marie Marie Marie.
No, you're not ready for a relationship, but look at Erin! She wasn't ready either!
Although, Jesse has maybe been trying too hard, he does come across as desperate whereas Bryce just seemed more... I dunno... I guess he should have seemed desperate but didn't for some reason. Hmm...
Anyway, obviously she is going to get her clothes back. I really want to see that asap, please! Will there be an awkward undie moment? Lol! She hasn't thought about it because she's assuming he's just left her clothes in the bag if he even noticed them.

    Back to bottom.
Someone else mentioned this, but I forgot until now. Helen and... and... was it Eduardo? It's too difficult to scroll on this Damon tablet... but anyway, yes, they're like a young ginger and Desmond. Made me all giggly because I need to see what happens with them!!

    To the middle.
Bryce loves this serious talks, doesn't he?
I suppose they're necessary really, they both have painful pasts, and all this talking will help put both their minds at ease.
Phew!! Almost got too serious for Erin then, though! I, like her, was sure he was going to pop the question. Well, not *the* question. The 'will you move in with me' question. I was like "woah! Chill out! She's barely lived in her own house two weeks!" But, phew! I don't know what Adele would say about that...

I think that's it. Sorry for jumping around a bit, like I said yesterday, you get to see how my brain works.

I feel like I've missed a major point. Will re-read and get back to you if so.

    1. That was the Tuesday bit I've been working towards for a while now. Now I'm on Tuesday and you might just get sick of it. I don't think it's going to be as bad as the Friday night party, but I could come close.

Todd had a little bit of cheek 'tricking' Adele into telling him what 'Eduardo' should do hehe. That whole 'a friend of mine' thing. She didn't quite figure it out, but she knew something was weird about that conversation. Escape to Daddy! Hm, speaking of Daddy, I don't think he's going to be the nicest father to boys that want to date his daughter with the past he has. Poor future Adele.
Yeah, Eduardo and Helen are very like Desmond and Ginger. The difference here is that Eduardo doesn't know what he's doing. He just wants to make Helen pay attention to him. Desmond very close to that, only more adult variety plus he thinks Ginger's beautiful when she's pissed off.
(Ginger p.o.v. for next chapter *fans self*)

Yes, Bryce and his serious talks. It's like he's held in all the serious talks he could ever possibly have and is now trying to let them all out. Yeah, they are necessary too in order for them not to fail.
Mmmhm, Bryce scared her. In his mind, he's happy to have it all happen... one step at a time. Not quite positive on the time Scale though. He wants her there, but he figures she's not ready to take that step. (He felt her tense up too.)

Good point, Erin said she wasn't ready either, and well... Bryce didn't listen either. What is it with these two guys?
I can't put my finger on it about what it is ... that charisma that Bryce has that made that work better for him. Plus, Marie has deep emotional scars.
Hm, maybe the difference is that Erin decided to go ahead with it anyway. I can picture in my head (I debated doing this, but then decided to leave it for another 'future', hadn't decided then, couple instead *clears throat*) how Bryce would've been sulking if Erin had continued to refuse him. Not quite as pouty as Jesse, more of an angry scowl kind of thing.

I have a plan about the clothes. I need do a set number of things before I can finally do little time jumps. :) I can hardly wait to write it up.

My brain always jumps around like crazy too, so you're not so strange to me.

      Thanks for reading :)

    2. Tuesday! FINALLY!!!! :D
Last Tuesday seems like so long ago... I can't even remember what happened last Tuesday.
I'll never get sick of your extrodinarily long days! I'm now looking forward to the Friday party, and we've only just hit Tuesday, so I imagine that's another 20 or so chapters away...

Aww. Adeles first love? Hehe, adorable!
I'm sure Bryce will be fine with boys, as long as she doesn't get wrapped up in a love... what was it in the end? Pentagram? like Marie did. Infact, there are a few women in town Adele can talk to about relationships. Bryce doesn't need to know...
Oh, but he has spies. I forgot... Yes, poor Adele!
(Ginger p.o.v and you fanning yourself... Oh, I'm excited!)

"It's like he's held in all the serious talks he could ever possibly have and is now trying to let them all out" - lol! Like the 'I love you' sound bites from 'the other day'.
Yes, Bryce does like to move fast, doesn't he? And Erin would just feel awful if she had to turn himdown on account of him jumping ahead. Bryce, you can still count the days you've been together on your fingers. Chill.

Yes! That's it! Charisma! I couldn't remember the word at the time, but that must be it.
And yes, Marie is more scarred than Erin. We don't know about Erin's past other than Sean, but I'm going to assume she had a much more stable upbringing than Marie. Which isn't hard, poor girl.

Another future couple? You're fast running out of characters! You'll have to add more when you do the time-jumps, but I suppose we'll have all Adele's schoolfriends and their families then, so that's a few more.

You can always write it up and just publish when it's time. I do that all the time, bits of story pop into my head and I grab my phone/pull up word and type it up before it goes. There are so many random paragraphs dotted about that it gets confusing...
And that ties in nicely to the brain-jumping point. Lol, glad I'm not strange to you, that makes one person!
(I found your facebook earlier, via the pose blog, and got confused and 'followed' you, not realising that it wasn't a new 'add friend' function, so I requested a friend thingy too. I don't go on facebook that much anymore, so it's all confusing again. They keep changing it. I just spent a good 20 minutes trying to figure out how to change my job, and discovered in the process that you can add 'life events' to the extent of illnesses and lost loved ones! Uh, a bit too private to go on facebook, I think...)

    3. I had to think about it, but last Tuesday was chapter 21: Cat Scratch Fever. They went and bought her a new computer. I guess they have to buy her a cell phone now lol.

What if this Friday is one of the Fridays that Bryce doesn't do something extra? Haha, like his friends would let him get away with that. LOL it just might be 20 chapters away, then again, maybe I'll pull off a small time jump a few days from now...

Well, to Adele, Todd is always THERE. It annoys her to a certain extent. Still... there's something about him that's a little familiar. LOL I can't believe no one has pointed this 'familiarity' out. Oh well, that'll make it all the more fun when Adele herself finally figures it out.
Oh boy, yeah when she gets interested, she'd better not get relationship advice from Marie, who got it from Elena even indirectly. It's amazing Xavier can stick with Lee and not be interested in anyone else, but that's just X-man. I'm getting off track here...
(I hope not to disappoint. I've added a new mod. I also worry that maybe I should've made another pose for the update, but I made 3 dangit.)

LOL I'd forgotten about the 'I love you' soundbites! Boom! ... hehe.
:) He did chill. Still, even chilling, he isn't exactly looking forward to things returning to 'normal' and her going back to live at her own house. haha, Sean comes into town and Bryce and Erin get closer because of it.
I just checked... I'm glad I included charisma in Bryce's personality traits. yay me.

Yeah, Erin had a pretty stable upbringing. She was *whispers* so shy (hehe) in school that she didn't make many friends. Boys would try to flirt with her and she'd want to die of embarrassment. She went out on a few failed dates.. then along comes Sean.

Oh, I haven't even really started with Belinda, speaking of future couples. I'm glad I didn't name this story after one character with the way I'm all over the place. Still, Erin is the star. I just like telling everything that's going on. I'm just laying a tiny bit of groundwork for the future teenagers. :) But the 'future couple' I meant was actually Marie and Jesse, it's just that I hadn't included them yet.

Yeah, facebook gets a little too personal. That account is one I used to have for my dog. (I played the little games for a while and used my pets for 'neighbors' LOL. pathetic.) Anyway, That's my simself only.

    4. Lol, maybe they can start a Tuesday tradition of buying new electricals for Erin?

Oooh! So a couple of days time-jump to ease into it? Good plan :)

You have killed my brain with the Todd looking familiar thing. I have now re-read that section about 200 times, and been staring at his face for at least 20 minutes. He does look familiar, but... he's a sim, they all look familiar! Argh! What did you mean?!
Yes, Marie would be awful to get advice from, I agree, Xavier turned out well considering.
Added a mod? Ooh, exciting! Which one?

Ah, Marie and Jesse... Were they the future couple mentioned in the last chapter... Y'no... With the handcuffs... :p

Facebook: I'm sorry, you think *thats* pathetic? I made accounts for stuffed toys as my neighbours! HAHAAA! Seriously, this was only about 2 years ago too! :|

    5. It does seem to happen that they wind up buying electronic equipment on Tuesday hehe.

Yeah, I sketched out a bullet point kind of thing to make sure I don't miss something. It's like a week here, a month there, etc.

LOL Well, I don't know if you'd recognize him. I'd have to go and check something. I'm really surprised somebody else didn't say something, but maybe she suspects and didn't want to say.
Just checked ... nope you most likely don't recognize him. Don't beat yourself up over it, it'll be a little funny (I hope) when she finally gets it.

      Something from Sexy Sims

Handcuffs in Jesse and Marie's future, hm... well, anything's possible, but no, they aren't the couple most likely to use cuffs... etc.

OMG you didn't!!! Yeah, I could never get enough neighbors to do things for me. Then I just flat gave up, went back to my MMO, became a executive member of a guild/clan/ls/faction -- faction, then I disappeared. Then I came back to simming.

  6. I guess we know who'll be filling up Marie's dreams. She really has a lot to sort through before she sees Jesse again.

The Adele playground scene was cute, but how old are they again? To be asking for relationship advice?

Looking forward to see how everyone's story lines unfold.

    1. Mhm, Marie is so confused. Maybe her dreams will help her sort everything out before she sees him again.

Hehe, they're 10, 11, 12 I'm not really picky. Um, well. I guess 10 or 11 from the story Bryce gave. Yeah, she thought the relationship advice was weird too, and she half expected Todd to laugh at her instead of take her seriously. That threw her for a few seconds.

Looking forward to ironing out the details. :)

      Thanks for reading!

  7. I just get so excited whenever I see you've written something new! Your characters are so interesting and complicated. I love your writing! Erin and Bryce are my favorite couple. I also love how in the last chapter you put in a snippet from The Cutest Little Jazz Singer.

    1. Oh my goodness! I've fallen in love with my characters, even the bad ones hehe, and it's like they're real inside my head.

I love combining stories, and if there's a logical way to do it, then odds are I'll try.

Thank you so much for letting me know how much you love the story!

  8. What a nice chapter!
The scene with Adele was so cute! I think was very realistic for the way kids that age talk now- feeling like they're more grown up than they are.

And I thought we were about to have a proposal there for a minute! Of course I would prefer it to have been a marriage proposal but could have also been a move-in proposal.

Jesse & Marie- those walls will be broken down soon.

Mhm, I didn't want her to seem childish, and my child near to that age talks like an adult almost when not playing with the youngest. So, I based that more adult feeling around that.

Whoa! Bryce isn't quite ready for the marriage thing just yet. Oh, he wants to... just not yet. He very near asked her to move in. After he said it, it occurred to him that that sounded like a segue into asking her to move in. Then, she tensed up n he dropped it. :-)

Jesse has no idea just how deep Marie's problems are.

      Thanks for commenting!

  9. Ha ha! What a cute chapter. Marie and Jesse both have issues that seem to be hitting at each other's tender spots. Marie wanting to go to Jesse's though I think shows she is interested but afraid that she is. lol.

Adele's sections was adorable. They are all at that age where they are starting to notice each other. Boys pestering girls they like, ah the age old dance, and then there's Todd. Mr. sensitive probing Adele. He likes her I think but Adele is clueless. So cute. lol.

Marie and Jesse have an uphill battle especially since Marie refuses to really start anything until she feels she's recovered from recent events. (unlike Erin) Yeah, Marie did think for a minute about going to Jesse's to get her clothes, maybe talk to Jesse again, but then she thought better of it. After all, she'd just told the man to get out.

I love that Adele section. Just setting the stage for future events. Of course though, I'm going to throw in a few curve balls. Hehe, even though he wasn't in it much, Eduardo is one of my favorites. Todd Mr. Sensitive! I love it! I think Adele doesn't even want to consider that he might like her. Too weird. LOL

  10. Maybe Jesse is just what Marie needs to get herself back together and forget the boys of her childhood. I think that maybe he can be sincere, with the right person.

Erin has had a lot happen, so she seems to be spiraling downward. I know she had her insecurities, and though she was climbing out of that mess, I think she's back to square one. Thankfully, hopefully, Bryce will stay strong about this and not react immediately.

I hope Adele grows up a lot more before boys and liking boys comes to her world.

    1. Jesse keeps trying to be sincere at times, and he winds up picking the wrong woman. He might just be what Marie needs, correct.

Erin is struggling. She's kinda on square two lol. Bryce has stepped off the squares and pretends they don't exist.

I'm going to have fun with Adele, that's all I'll say.

  12. N'aww, it's too adorable seeing Adele deny liking Todd because he's a silly boy :P Poor Todd, she's so oblivious (not that either of them look old enough anyway)! Maybe when he brings her flowers? Wonder how Bryce will react when she brings a boy home - not necessarily Todd, though, but we'll see ;)

  13. Lol. Marie will be in for another shocker when she finds he's washed them. Though I've got to wonder, with his luck, will he accidentally put something new and bright red in the wash on accident so that all her clothes come out pink. Ha!

There you go! Talking! Yay! Bryce and Erin need to talk more, still though. Thank goodness Bryce forces her to. lol

D'aw! Adele has a crush and her crush has one in return. <3

    1. LOL! I could so see that happening! Mhm, he'll surprise her when she finds out he washed them.

Bryce actually surprises *himself* at how much he gets her to talk. Not too long ago, he'd been closed-up and silent. Maybe it's that he isn't now and expects everyone else to be too, especially Erin. I could go into a psychological doodah here, but I'm not quite awake yet, still.

Hm. Well, SOMEone has a crush...
