...I was happily making pictures for a Jesse and Marie chapter when I was asked to stop for a minute. My life changed in that minute.
I don't want to go into detail, but suffice to say, I have much less free time. The free time I do have, I spend writing books.
My game takes eons to load, so that has kept me from getting the pictures for the next ten or so chapters I have written for this story. I have loads of crap I need to delete, hair mostly, that slows down my game, including loading time, but again, that takes time.
Question: Would you as the readers prefer that I only post the chapters after I get the pics, or would you rather I just post the chapters sans pictures so that you could read the continuing story? I do plan on getting all the pictures eventually, but I could 'plan' until the cows come home and nothing would happen.
At any rate, I do not want to stop writing this story. After all, I still have that "wonderful" scene when Jesse meets Marie's father eventually. Also, Marie has a surprise visitor. Desmond and Ginger make a major decision. We find out Pam's reaction to her miscarriage since she still hasn't awakened. My worry is that I'll only write and quickly end up with fifty or so chapters that are waiting to have pictures taken.
I want your opinions. I've put up a poll, but I certainly wouldn't mind hearing exactly what you think.
As long as we're not waiting months for the next chapter, my preference is to post them after you've taken the pics. I read a crapload of e-books. But I'm a very visual person, which is why I love sims stories so much. In fact, it was sims stories that re-awakened my love for reading. Voted -- gimme pics!
ReplyDeleteOoh. Tough call, but I'm going to go with story sans pics, or not as many pics, or whatever works for you. I have no problem reading without pics but at the same time I do think they add a lot to stories.
ReplyDeleteUp to you really. If you think you can get pictures done within the time you have now days I say wait for the shots or maybe not do as many. Now if you feel you're gonna have a major back load then just post without pictures. If you go that route I'd say skip back tracking to add them later and when you do have time for them just take them for the current chapters.

My personal preference is with the pics, but I'll happily take just story :) Before you delete all the extra hairs, would you please write down what they are and where you got them, and then post it whenever you have the time? I love your hair choices for your characters!
ReplyDeleteI meant to put something about the hairs. I have no idea where I got all of them . Mostly, I use Peggy hair and newsea and the Anubis360 redo of them. The problem is that I have too many and something about the files makes the game run slower...so I've heard. I need to pick and choose. If I can figure it out, I'll try to post something on the "credits" tab to give more specific WCIF stuff for individual hairs. 😊

ReplyDeleteThanks, everyone! I'm stopping the poll with 3 days to go. From what I see now, it's a two-thirds majority to keep the pics, so I'll do so. However, I have decided to really lessen the number of them. Doing that, I loaded up the game and got pictures for 3 or 4 chapters in one sitting! I'm putting up a schedule for when they're going to be released, and so far, it's going to be on Saturdays when I can... or before the scheduled Saturday if I just can't stand sitting on it any longer. :)
